  2. QURAN 4:4
And give the women [upon marriage] their [bridal] gifts graciously. But if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then take it in satisfaction and ease.

    QURAN 4:5
And do not give the weak-minded your property, which Allah has made a means of sustenance for you, but provide for them with it and clothe them and speak to them words of appropriate kindness.

  3. QURAN 2:233
Mothers may breastfeed their children two complete years for whoever wishes to complete the nursing [period]. Upon the father is the mothers' provision and their clothing according to what is acceptable. No person is charged with more than his capacity. No mother should be harmed through her child, and no father through his child. And upon the [father's] heir is [a duty] like that [of the father].

  4. QURAN 65:7
Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth, and he whose provision is restricted - let him spend from what Allah has given him. Allah does not charge a soul except [according to] what He has given it. Allah will bring about, after hardship, ease.

  5. QURAN 2:228
And they (women) have rights (over their husbands as regards living expenses, etc.) similar (to those of their husbands) over them (as regards obedience and respect, etc.) to what is reasonable, but men have a degree (of responsibility) over them. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

  6. PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:

  7. It was narrated that: Sulaiman bin Amr bin Ahwas said:
“My father told me that he was present at the Farewell Pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).
He (ﷺ) praised and glorified Allah, and reminded and exhorted (the people).
    Then he (ﷺ) said:
    1) 'I enjoin good treatment of women, for they are prisoners with you, and you have no right to treat them otherwise, unless they commit clear indecency.
    2) If they do that, then forsake them in their beds and hit them, but without causing injury or leaving a mark.
    3) If they obey you, then do not seek means of annoyance against them.
    4) You have rights over your women and your women have rights over you.
    5) Your rights over your women are that they are not to allow anyone whom you dislike to tread on your bedding (furniture), nor allow anyone whom you dislike to enter your houses.
    6) And their right over you are that you should treat them kindly with regard to their clothing and food.' ”
