PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
There are two blessings which many people lose: (They are)
1) Health and
2) Free time for doing good.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
1) The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good.
2) Strive to do that which will benefit you and seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless.
3) If anything befalls you, do not say: "If only I had done (such and such), then such and such would have happened," rather say: " QADDAR ALLAHU MASHAA'A FA'AL (Allah has decreed and what He wills He does)." For; "if only" opens the door to the work of the Shaitaan.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
1) A human being fills no worse vessel than his stomach.
2) It is sufficient for a human being to eat a few mouthfuls to keep his spine straight.
3) But if he must (fill it), then one third of food, one third for drink and one third for air.
Yahya Al-Bakka' narrated from Ibn 'Umar who said:
"A man belched in the presence of the Prophet (ﷺ), so he (ﷺ) said: 'Restrain your belching from us. For indeed those who are filled most in the world will be the hungriest on the Day of Judgement.'"
It was narrated that ‘Atiyyah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani said:
“I heard Salman, when he was forced to eat food, say: ‘It is sufficient for me that I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: The people who most eat their fill in this world will be the most hungry on the Day of Resurrection.’”
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
TRANSLATION:
O Allah,
1) I seek refuge with You from hunger, for it is a bad companion, and
2) I seek refuge with You from treachery, for it is a bad thing to hide in one’s heart.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
The best of your provision is what you earn, and your children are part of what you earn.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
The best (most pure) food that a man eats is that which he has earned himself.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
No man earns anything better than that which he earns with his own hands.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
Nobody has ever eaten a better meal than that which one has earned by working with one's own hands. The Prophet of Allah, Dawud (as) used to eat from the earnings of his manual labor.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
The Prophet Dawud (as) used not to eat except from the earnings of his manual labor.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
There are three types of Hands: The Hand of Allah is the highest, and the hand of the giver is below it, and the hand of the one who asks is the lowest. So give charity, and do not be too weak to overcome yourself.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
The upper hand is better than the lower hand.
The upper hand is that of the giver and the lower (hand) is that of the beggar.
Narrated Anas:
I have never touched silk or Dibaj (i.e. thick silk) softer than the palm of the Prophet (ﷺ) nor have I smelt a perfume nicer than the sweat of the Prophet.
Narrated Yahya bin Sa`id:
I asked `Amra about taking a bath on Fridays. She replied, " Aisha said, 'The people used to work (for their livelihood) and whenever they went for the Jumuah prayer, they used to go to the mosque in the same shape as they had been in work. So they were asked to take a bath on Friday.' "
Narrated Aisha:
(the wife of the Prophet) The people used to come from their abodes and from Al-`Awali (i.e. outskirts of Medina up to a distance of four miles or more from Medina). They used to pass through dust and used to be drenched with sweat and covered with dust; so sweat used to trickle from them. One of them came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who was in my house. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "I wish that you keep yourself clean on this day of yours (i.e. take a bath)."
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
If one performs ablution and does it perfectly, and then proceeds to the mosque with the sole intention of praying, then for each step which he takes towards the mosque, Allah upgrades him a degree in reward and (forgives) crosses out one sin till he enters the mosque.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
Whoever takes a bath on Friday, and bathes completely, and goes early, arriving early,* and walks and does not ride (to the mosque), and sits close to the Imam and listens to him, and does not engage in idle talk; FOR EVERY STEP HE TAKES HE WILL HAVE THE REWARD OF ONE YEAR, THE REWARD OF A YEAR’S FASTING AND PRAYING (AT NIGHT).
It was reported from 'Aishah, that she was with the Prophet (ﷺ) on a journey, she said: "And I raced with him on foot, and I beat him. When I gained weight, I (again) raced him, and he beat me. He (ﷺ) said: 'This (win) is for that race."
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
Good will remain (as a permanent quality) in the foreheads of horses till the Day of Resurrection.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
No stake (prize) is acceptable except in archery, racing a camel, and racing a horse.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
If somebody keeps a horse in Allah's Cause motivated by his faith in Allah and his belief in His Promise, then he will be rewarded on the Day of Resurrection for what the horse has eaten or drunk and for its dung and urine.
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Once the people of Medina were frightened, so the Prophet (ﷺ) rode a horse belonging to Abu Talha and it ran slowly, or was of narrow paces. When he returned, he said, "I found your (i.e. Abu Talha's) horse very fast. After that the horse could not be surpassed in running.'
Narrated Anas:
The 'Prophet was the best and the bravest amongst the people. Once the people of Medina got terrified at night, so they went in the direction of the noise (that terrified them). The Prophet (ﷺ) met them (on his way back) after he had found out the truth. He was riding an unsaddled horse belonging to Abu Talha and a sword was hanging by his neck, and he was saying, "Don't be afraid! Don't be afraid!" He further said, "I found it (i.e. the horse) very fast," or said, "This horse is very fast."
Narrated Abu 'Is-haq from Musa bin `Uqba from Mafia from Ibn `Umar who said:
"Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) arranged a horse race amongst the horses that had been made lean, letting them start from Al-Hafya' and their limit (distance of running) was up to Thaniyat-al-Wada`. I asked Musa, 'What was the distance between the two places?' Musa replied, 'Six or seven miles. He arranged a race of the horses which had not been made lean sending them from Thaniyat-al-Wada`, and their limit was up to the mosque of Bani Zuraiq.' I asked, 'What was the distance between those two places?' He replied 'One mile or so.' Ibn `Umar was amongst those who participated in that horse race."
Narrated Nafi`:
`Abdullah said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) arranged for a horse race, and the prepared horses were given less food for a few days before the race to win the race, and were allowed to run from Al-Hafya to Thaniyat-al- Wada`, and the unprepared horses were allowed to run between Thaniyat-al-Wada` and the mosque of Bani Zuraiq," `Abdullah was one of those who participated in the race.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
No stake (prize) is acceptable except in archery, racing a camel, and racing a horse.
It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahmân bin Shumasah that Fuqairn Al-Lakhmi said to 'Uqbah bin 'Amir: "You go between these two targets but you are an old man, and it must be difficult for you." 'Uqbah said: "Were it not for some words that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), I would not trouble myself." Al-Hârith said: "I said to Ibn Shumasah: 'Why was that?' He said: "He (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever learns archery then abandons it, he is not one of us, or, he has sinned."
Narrated Salama bin Al-Akwa`:
The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by some people of the tribe of Bani Aslam who were practicing archery. The Prophet said, "O Bani Isma`il ! Practice archery as your father Isma`il was a great archer. Keep on throwing arrows and I am with Bani so-and-so." So one of the parties ceased throwing. Allah's Apostle said, "Why do you not throw?" They replied, "How should we throw while you are with them (i.e. on their side)?" On that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Throw, and I am with all of you."
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
The feet of the son of Adam shall not move from before his Lord on the Day of Judgement, until he is asked about five things:
1) About his life and what he did with it,
2) About his youth and what he wore it out in,
3) About his wealth and how he earned it
4) And spent it upon,
5) And what he did with what he knew (knowledge).
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
Allah will give shade, to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but His. (These seven persons are)
1) A just ruler,
2) A youth who has been brought up in the worship of Allah,
3) A man whose heart is attached to the mosques,
4) Two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only,
5) A man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for illicit intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah,
6) A man who gives charitable gifts so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity), and
7) A person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes are then flooded with tears.
