  1. وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ ﴿١﴾ وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ ﴿٢﴾ وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ ﴿٣

    QURAN 85:1-3
    1. By the sky containing great stars
    2. And [by] the promised Day (Day of Resurrection)
    3. And [by] the witness (Friday) and what is witnessed (Day of Arafah)

  2. وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِن بَنِي آدَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ ۛ شَهِدْنَا ۛ أَن تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَـٰذَا غَافِلِينَ ﴿١٧٢﴾ أَوْ تَقُولُوا إِنَّمَا أَشْرَكَ آبَاؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِّن بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ ﴿١٧٣

    QURAN 7:172-173
    172. And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."
    173. Or [lest] you say, "It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with Allah before, and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?"

  3. الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ دِينًا

    QURAN 5:3
    This day I have perfected your religion For you, completed My favor upon you, And have chosen for you Islam as your religion.

  4. PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
    1) Al-Yawmul-Maw'ood (the Promised Day) is the Day of Resurrection,
    2) And Al-Yawmul-Mashhood (the Attended Day) is the Day of 'Arafah,
    3) And Ash-Shaahid (the witness) is Friday.

  5. Narrated: Ibn ‘Abbaas
    The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said:
    Allah took the covenant from the loins of Adam in Na’maan, i.e., ‘Arafaah. He (Allah) brought forth from his loins all his offspring and spread them before Him (Allah), then He (Allah) addressed them, and said: (QURAN 7:172-173)

    QURAN 7:172

  6. Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab:
    Once a Jew said to me, "O the chief of believers! There is a verse in your Holy Book Which is read by all of you (Muslims), and had it been revealed to us, we would have taken that day (on which it was revealed as a day of celebration." 'Umar bin Al-Khattab asked, "Which is that verse?" The Jew replied,

    (QURAN 5:3)
    "This day I have perfected your religion For you, completed My favor upon you, And have chosen for you Islam as your religion."

    'Umar replied,"No doubt, we know when and where this verse was revealed to the Prophet. It was Friday and the Prophet (ﷺ) was standing at 'Arafat (i.e. the Day of Hajj)"

DUA
  1. PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
    The best of supplication is the supplication of the Day of `Arafah. And the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said is:

    لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

    TRANSLATION:
    None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him belongs the Praise, and He is powerful over all things.

      Fasting on the day of Arafah, I ask Allah that it may expiate for (the sins of) the year that comes before it, and the year that comes after it.

    1. PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
      The Day of Arafah, the Day of Nahr, and the Days of Tashriq are Eid for us. The people of Islam, and they are days of eating and drinking.

    2. Ibn Abi Najib narrated from his father who said:
      "Ibn Umar was asked about fasting (the Day of) Arafah (at Arafat). He said: 'I performed Hajj with the Prophet (ﷺ), and he did not fast it, and with Abu Bakr, and he did not fast it, and with Umar, and he did not fast it, and with Uthman, and he did not fast it. I do no fast it, nor order it nor forbid it."

    3. Narrated Um Al-Fadl bint Al-Harith:
      "While the people were with me on the day of `Arafat they differed as to whether the Prophet (ﷺ) was fasting or not; some said that he was fasting while others said that he was not fasting. So, I sent to him a bowl full of milk while he was riding over his camel and he drank it."

      Allah expresses His pride to His angels at the time of ‘Ishaa’ on the Day of ‘Arafaah, about the people of ‘Arafaah. He says, ‘Look at My slaves who have come unkempt and dusty.
