  4. PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
    If anyone says morning and evening;

    حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ

    Allah will be sufficient for him against anything which grieves him, whetherhe is true or false in (repeating) them.

    Allah is sufficient for me, there is none worthy of worship but He, in Him have I put my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.

    1. (SUNAN ABU DAWUD Vol #5, Hadith #5081)
  5. PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
    "Shall I not tell you some words which, if distress or grief befalls any of you and he offers this prayer (supplication), it will bring him joy? It is the du‘aa’ of Dhoo’l-Noon (i.e. Yunus):

    لا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين

    There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
    (Quran 21:87)

  6. Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
    Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to say at a time of distress,

    1) None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Majestic, the Most Forebearing.
    2) None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Lord of the Tremendous Throne.
    3) None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth and the Lord of the Honourable Throne.

  7. PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:
    The supplication of the one who is in distress is:

    اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو فَلاَ تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

    0 Allah, for Your mercy I hope, so do not abandon me to myself for an instant. Set all my affairs straight, there is none worthy of worship but You.

  8. There is no-one who is afflicted by distress and grief, and says:

    اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي عَبْدُكَ ، وَابْنُ عَبْدِكَ ، وَابْنُ أَمَتِكَ ، نَاصِيَتِي بِيَدِكَ ، مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ ، عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤُكَ ، أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ ، أَوْ عَلَّمْتَهُ أَحَدًا مِنْ خَلْقِكَ ، أَوْ أَنْزَلْتَهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ ، أَوْ اسْتَأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الْغَيْبِ عِنْدَكَ ، أَنْ تَجْعَلَ الْقُرْآنَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِي ، وَنُورَ صَدْرِي ، وَجِلَاءَ حُزْنِي ، وَذَهَابَ هَمِّي

    but Allah will take away his distress and grief, and replace it with joy.” He was asked: “O Messenger of Allah, should we learn this?” He said: “Of course; everyone who hears it should learn it.”

    O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your maid servant;
    My forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just.
    I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the Unseen with You, that You make the Qur’aan the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety.
