  4. Prophet Mohammed (ﷺ) said:
When anyone of you go to bed, he should shake out his bed with the inside of his waist sheet, for he does not know what has come on to it after him, and then he should say:

  5. Abdullah bin Umar commanded a person that as he went to bed, he should say:

A person said to him: Did you hear it from Umar? Thereupon he said: (I have heard from one) who is better than Umar, viz. from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ).

    Translation:
O Allah, You created my soul and it is for You to take it to its ultimate goal. And its death and life are in Your Hand. If You cause it to live then protect it and if You cause it to die then forgive it. O Allah, I ask You to keep me safe and sound.

    1. (SAHIH MUSLIM Vol #7, Hadith #6888)
  6. Prophet Mohammed (ﷺ) said:
When you want to go to bed, perform ablution as you do for prayer, then lie down on your right side and say:

If you should die then (after reciting this) you will die on the religion of Islam (i.e., as a Muslim); so let these words be the last you say (before going to bed)

NOTE: In the Hadith of Sahih Muslim 7/6885 its mentioned - Then if he dies, he will have died in a state of Fitrah, and if you live till till morning you will attain good.

    Translation:
O Allah! I surrender to You and entrust all my affairs to You and depend upon You for Your Blessings both with hope and fear of You. There is no fleeing from You, and there is no place of protection and safety except with You O Allah! I believe in Your Book (the Qur'an) which You have revealed and in Your Prophet (Muhammad) whom You have sent.

  8. Narrated `Ali:
Fatima complained of what she suffered from the hand mill and from grinding, when she got the news that some slave girls of the booty had been brought to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). She went to him to ask for a maid-servant, but she could not find him, and told `Aisha of her need. When the Prophet (ﷺ) came, Aisha informed him of that. The Prophet (ﷺ) came to our house when we had gone to our beds. (On seeing the Prophet) we were going to get up, but he (ﷺ) said, 'Keep at your places,' I felt the coolness of the Prophet's (ﷺ) feet on my chest. Then he said, "Shall I tell you a thing which is better than what you asked me for? When you go to your beds, say: 'Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greater)' for 34 times, and 'Al Hamdu Lillah (All the praises are for Allah)' for 33 times, and Subhan Allah (Glorified be Allah) for 33 times. This is better for you than what you have requested."
